KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) deputy president Datuk Melanie Chia says she quit the party after it joined Perikatan Nasional.

Chia, who submitted her resignation letter on Aug 19, felt that the party's current direction had deviated from its initial approach of upholding Sabah rights and autonomy.
