KUALA LUMPUR: The High Court here has freed UK-based Goldman Sachs International Ltd and its two Asian entities from charges relating to the sale of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) bonds amounting to RM27.2bil (US$6.5bil).
Justice Mohamed Zaini Mazlan granted the acquittal after deputy public prosecutor Datuk Masri Mohd Daud informed the court that the prosecution did not intend to pursue the charges against all the companies, and therefore applied to withdraw the charges against Goldman Sachs and its two entities in Singapore and Hong Kong.
