GEORGE TOWN: An object that looked like a mortar shell was found near the Esplanade seawall when digging works were carried out here on Saturday (Sept 26).
Lebuh Pantai Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Saiful Bahari Shaik Abdul Kadir said police received a MERS 999 call at 6.10pm about the object.
