MARANG: The worsening flood situation forced a young mother undergoing confinement to wade through metre-high floodwaters for about 50m to reach the relief shelter while carrying her month-old baby.

Fateema Nur Arbaiyyah Jusoh, 29, from Kampung Rhu Dua here held on tightly to her precious bundle Nur Syafia Fakhira Mohd Shahrul as she slowly made her way to the relief centre (PPS) at about 1am on Thursday.
