Goodbye tools, hello brush


Retired metalsmith Phang Ken Koon, 71, traded his tools for the caligraphy brush and delved into Chinese calligraphy writing to make sure he does not stop learning even at an old age.

KLUANG: For about five decades, he was all physical in his job as a metalsmith, banging on hard metals to turn them into furniture and other equipment.These days, Phang Ken Koon, 71, creates elegant strokes with the calligraphy brush.

It all happened when he retired seven years ago and traded his tools for bamboo brushes and worked on Chinese calligraphy artworks.
