KOTA KINABALU: Strong waves coupled with high tides are keeping coastal folk sleepless as several houses were damaged and eight families had to be evacuated in northern Sabah’s Kudat area.

The annual high tide resulted in waves destroying two houses while damaging five others on Wednesday night in Tanjong Kapor and Kampung Seri Aman in Kudat, about 200km from the state capital.
