Melaka govt to ensure EIA done first on RM15bil Kuala Linggi port project

MELAKA: The state government will ensure that environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies will be carried out prior to the construction of the RM15bil Kuala Linggi International Port (KLIP), says Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali.

"EIA is a must for all reclamation projects in Melaka and we will not give the permission if one project doesn't comply with the EIA," the Melaka Chief Minister said in an interview here on Saturday (March 13).
