KOTA BARU: When Mahmoun Alghaz travelled from Syria to spend a few weeks with friends in Kuala Lumpur in 2010, it never occurred to him that he would end up living in Malaysia, even 11 years later.

The chef from Damascus has more than 35 years of culinary experience and is skilled in cooking Middle Eastern cuisine, having travelled to most parts of the world, including Europe, to earn a living.
