GEORGE TOWN: It has been more than a year since Covid-19 reared its ugly head, but the Ayer Itam market has never fully recovered and the once busiest market in Penang is no longer as bustling as it was once before.

Nowadays, there are only a handful of market-goers on weekdays, although there are more on weekends.
