‘Nira kurma’ juice much sought after during Ramadan

KOTA BARU: Although there are various types of drinks sold during Ramadan, the “nira kurma” juice (from date palms) or also known as “tuak kurma” is much sought after and sells 10 times more than in any other month.

Mohd Zain Mohamed, 61, said he was able to sell more than 20 litres of nira kurma a day compared to only three litres in other months.
