Bid to smuggle Indonesian woman in car boot foiled


ALOR GAJAH: Cops have foiled an attempt by a 27-year-old e-hailing driver to smuggle in an Indonesian woman who wanted to spend Hari Raya with her husband here after having not met him for over a year.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said during the 2.30pm incident yesterday, police asked the driver to open the boot of his car at the roadblock in Simpang Ampat Toll Plaza here and caught the woman hiding inside.
