Online prayers only this Wesak Day

Praying from home: Devotees will be following the prayers held virtually during Wesak Day celebrations this year in an effort to curb rising Covid-19 cases around the country.

JOHOR BARU: It will be another muted Wesak Day this year as many Buddhist associations are holding prayers online to avoid mass gatherings in view of the high number of Covid-19 cases.

Johor Buddhist Mission chairman Soh Kerk Shing said their simplified activities would be carried out virtually for the second time since last year so that devotees could tune in and pray together from the comfort of their homes.
