NEW legislation to regulate and tax online gambling is being considered by the government, says Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin (pic).
He said the proposed law would allow the authorities to keep tabs on online gambling besides collecting taxes, adding that existing laws, such as the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953, were inadequate to deal with the current forms of gambling.
