MMEA foils attempt to smuggle nearly 700kg of ketum leaves in Langkawi waters


LANGKAWI: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) thwarted an attempt to smuggle nearly 700kg of ketum leaves out of the country in Langkawi waters.

Kedah and Perlis MMEA director Maritime First Admiral Mohd Zawawi Abdullah said a boat was spotted at about 3.30am on Sunday (Dec 12) about five nautical miles east of Pulau Dendang here.
