PETALING JAYA: Now that three Malaysian mothers have obtained Malaysian citizenship for their children who were born on foreign soil, various groups are calling for the government to accord this right to all affected Malaysian mothers.
With the National Registration Department (NRD) issuing citizenship certificates for the children of a few affected mothers yesterday, the groups say this is a small step towards reducing gender discrimination in the country.
