PUTRAJAYA: The Selangor Syariah Court has no power to hear judicial review cases relating to the decision by its state religious authorities, declares the Federal Court.
A nine-member panel led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat in a unanimous decision said the Selangor State Legislative Assembly had wrongly enacted the law which confers the state Syariah court the power to hear the judicial review.
