Booksellers fear closures with book council's new move


MELAKA: Booksellers are unhappy that the National Book Council of Malaysia (MBKM), a government body, is being turned into what they call a business entity.

Malaysian Booksellers Association’s vice-president Mak Chee Kin said it was disappointing that MBKM had formed a joint venture called "Bukuku" with an e-commerce platform to commercialise the sales of books to the Education Ministry.
