As borders reopen, Esscom steps up patrols and fine-tunes tactics to cope with possible security threats


KOTA KINABALU: Security forces in eastern Sabah have adapted their operational tactics and stepped up patrols to address new challenges following the reopening of state and international borders.

Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) commander Hamzah Ahmad said among the current challenges were concerns of increased cross-border crimes including kidnap-for-ransom activities.
