KOTA KINABALU: An Education Department officer has been charged at the Tawau Special Corruption Court with taking a RM5,000 bribe from a contractor linked to repair work on a primary school in 2020.
Abdul Samad Amara, 44, pleaded not guilty before judge Abu Bakar Manat to charges framed under Section 165 of the Penal Code that carry a maximum two years jail or fine, or both upon conviction.
