Police prosecutor jailed 10 days, fined RM15,000 for RM3,000 bribe


KOTA KINABALU: A 40-year-old police prosecuting officer who took a RM3,000 bribe to help sort out a criminal case has been jailed 10 days and fined RM15,000 by a Special Corruption Court in Tawau.

Zakariah Kirinu, who held the rank of Inspector and was attached to Tawau district police headquarters, pleaded guilty to the bribery charge before judge Abu Bakar Manat on Friday (April 8).
