Zahid: RM6mil was political contribution

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has told the High Court that two cheques amounting to RM6mil received from Syarikat Sarana Kencana Sdn Bhd when he was the deputy prime minister were political contributions and not bribes.

He said allegations that the cheques received via former Datasonic Group Bhd deputy managing director Chew Ben Ben were inducements to appoint Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd (DTSB) to supply passport chips for five years are not true and are libellous.
