Unique Seremban mosque wows M’sians

One of a kind: The Masjid Sri Sendayan in Seremban costs more than RM100mil and was designed using materials from Egypt, Turkiye, Dubai, Morocco and China.

SEREMBAN: Masjid Sri Sendayan has become the centre of attention and the preferred place for the public, including those from outside Negri Sembilan, to spend their Aidiladha holiday with their families.A visitor from Kuala Lumpur, Siti Najihah Mohd Sariff, 27, who came with 10 family members, said the mosque’s architectural design which resembles the Taj Mahal and Nabawi Mosque, made her feel like she was visiting an attraction abroad.

“It is very beautiful and unique. This mosque may be a benchmark for other mosques after this,” the private company employee told Bernama.

Another visitor from Melaka, Hasnul Hasan, 45, said he decided to take advantage of the school holidays to visit the mosque with his family.

“This is my first visit. I found out about the mosque through the Internet, and I am amazed by its uniqueness; it’s different from the others. I also had the opportunity to perform prayers here besides taking our family pictures,” he said.

The mosque, located about 15km from Seremban and 70km from the federal capital, was endowed by the founder of RHB Group, Tan Sri Abd Rashid Hussain.

The main attraction of Masjid Sri Sendayan, which cost more than RM100mil, is its architecture and the materials used in its construction.

Some materials were flown in from Egypt, Turkiye, Dubai, Morocco and China.

It can accommodate up to 5,000 people at a time and also has lecture halls, a library, multipurpose halls, mortuary management rooms and administrative buildings.
