Missing ex-TV3 newscaster lookalike shown in CCTV footage


PETALING JAYA: Police have revealed closed circuit television footage (CCTV) of a woman, resembling the missing former newscaster Zalina Shaharah Azman, at a hotel in Shah Alam.

The woman in the footage was seen clad in all black as she entered the hotel’s lobby while carrying two bags, reported mStar.

The footage, filmed at around 1.35pm on Monday (July 18), showed the woman waiting to be served at the hotel’s counter, but no staff appeared at that time.

She then walked out of the hotel. The individual was also seen removing her face mask at one point.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police have identified the woman in the recording as a homeless person.

He added that the individual was also the same person seen at a cafe in Shah Alam, who was said to resemble Zalina.

Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Mohd Radzi meanwhile has continued posting on her Instagram about the search for her missing friend Zalina.

“Not giving up on you,” wrote Ras Adiba in an Instagram post which included a picture of Zalina.

“In the name of Allah, we ask You to protect this friend of ours and return her to us.

“Anyone who has seen her, please contact the nearest police station or contact me on my messenger,” Ras Adiba wrote.

In another post, Ras Adiba said the viral image of a woman resembling Zalina is not the missing newscaster.

“I’ve taken a closer look and it is not Zalina,” wrote the senator.

Zalina, 58, previously hosted several talk shows, including Money Matters on TV3.

She was reported missing by her son Mikhael Norman, 33, on Nov 29, 2021.
