PETALING JAYA: The search for missing newscaster Zalina Shaharah Azman continues, with more people claiming to have spotted her lookalike.

Some said to have seen an individual resembling Zalina in Shah Alam, while an e-hailing driver claimed that she met the missing woman in Bangsar, mStar reported.

Instagram user Nadhir Agito claimed that a Zalina lookalike approached her, appearing dazed and confused, at 6.45am one morning.

Nadhir, who wrote in the comments section of Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Mohd Radzi’s Instagram account, said the woman initially asked to be taken to a police station.

“She appeared confused about what she really wanted. After that, she changed her mind and said she wanted to eat as she was hungry. Her hands were shivering.

“I tried to take her picture but she refused to allow me, as she thought I had bad intentions.

“However, all I wanted to do was post it on Facebook with the hopes that her family sees it and knows where she is,” wrote Nadhir.

Nadhir said she is convinced that the woman is Zalina after seeing Ras Adiba’s photo of the missing newscaster.

Ras Adiba has made multiple posts on her social media, pleading to the public to help the search for Zalina.

In one post, Ras Adiba clarified that the viral image of a woman resembling Zalina is not the missing newscaster.

“I’ve taken a closer look and it is not Zalina,” she wrote.

Zalina, 58, was reported missing by her son Mikhael Norman, 33, on Nov 29, 2021.

She previously hosted several talk shows, including Money Matters on TV3.

Police have also revealed closed circuit television footage (CCTV) of a woman resembling Zalina who was spotted at a hotel in Shah Alam.

The woman in the footage was seen clad in all black as she entered the hotel’s lobby while carrying two bags.

The footage, filmed at around 1.35pm on Monday (July 18), showed the woman waiting to be served at the hotel’s counter, but no staff appeared at that time.

She then walked out of the hotel. The individual was also seen removing her face mask at one point.

Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the police have identified the woman in the recording as a homeless person.

He added that the individual is also the same person seen at a cafe in Shah Alam, who was said to resemble Zalina.
