BUTTERWORTH: Some 3,000 people thronged the Minor Basilica of St Anne in Bukit Mertajam on the first day of the 10-day St Anne's Feast celebration on Friday (July 22).
Church deacon Rev Lazarus Anthony Jonathan said the crowd, which attended several masses held throughout the day, was unexpected.
