Myanmar junta's executions of activists a mockery of Asean attempts to end violence, says Saifuddin

KUALA LUMPUR: The Myanmar military junta's execution of four pro-democracy activists makes a mockery of Asean's attempt to bring an end to the violence and instability in the country, says Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah.

The Foreign Minister expressed dismay at the news of the executions fresh after a visit by the Asean Special Envoy, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia Prak Sokhonn to Myanmar and a scheduled meeting of Asean foreign ministers to discuss the way forward for the 5-Point Consensus (5PCs).
