Anti-Hopping Bill: Constitutional amendment by four states will strengthen democracy

PUTRAJAYA: The intention of four states to amend their respective state constitutions to enable the Constitution (Amendment) Bill (No. 3) 2022 to be enforced at the state level is a healthy step towards strengthening democracy.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Parliament and Law) Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar (pic) said he welcomed such a move and added that he had been informed that the four states that would amend their constitutions were Sabah, Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.
