Smuggling of 8,000 litres of subsidised petrol at Lahad Datu intercepted


The four suspects with the lorry carrying the drums filled with subsidised petrol, that were intended to be smuggled into the neighbouring country.

KOTA KINABALU: An attempt to smuggle out 8,000 litres of subsidised petrol by four individuals was thwarted by authorities in Lahad Datu early Saturday (Aug 20).

The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) intercepted the culprits who were in the midst of unloading the petrol from a lorry into a cargo boat at 3.30am at Pangkalan Nelayan Silam Kem jetty there.
