Never forget the sacrifices of those before us, says Dr Wee about Malaysia Day

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians are reminded to not forget about the sacrifices of the leaders, frontliners and past communities as the country marked its historic formation six decades ago, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president said these people were the ones who sacrificed everything and enabled Malaysia to achieve the historic moment.

He also shared a few pictures of the Malaysia Day 2022 celebration which was held at the Independence Declaration Memorial Square in Banda Hilir, Melaka.

"It was a great celebration of Malaysia Day 2022 at the Independence Declaration Memorial Square in Banda Hilir, Melaka, my birthplace.

"Tonight, on this date, we recall the historic moment of the formation of Malaysia in 1963, six decades ago," he said.

Dr Wee said Malaysians would continue to remain united as a family and overcome whatever challenges ahead together.

"Don't forget the sacrifices of the leaders, frontliners and previous communities before us, who sacrificed everything to give us the blessings we enjoy today.

"Appreciate their contribution by playing the role of taking care of this beloved homeland as best as possible, not only for us, but also for future generations who will inherit this country.

"Happy Malaysia Day!" he said.
