Floor price of scrap rubber should be raised to RM3.50 per kg, says Kitingan

KENINGAU: The time has come to raise the floor price of scrap rubber or "cup lump" in Sabah to RM3.50 per kg in order to increase the income of smallholders, says Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

Kitingan, who is state Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, said the present floor price of RM2.50 per kg was set seven years ago and that maintaining the price today was unfair to smallholders.
