MANDOPOP singer Choo Hao Ren and his influencer wife Gladish Chan, who got hitched in September, announced they would be expecting their first child, reported China Press.

Chan posted a sonogram of their foetus on Instagram and the news was later confirmed by Choo as well.

“It’s such a surprise. Since my name is Hao Ren (which rhymes with the phrase ‘good person’ in Chinese), I am destined to be a good father,” Choo said, adding that he now intends to earn more money and enjoy his time as much as he can before the baby’s birth.

On her Instagram post, Chan invited members of the public to suggest names for her baby.

The couple had been dating for five years before Choo popped the question in Switzerland in April. They tied the knot last month.

> Sin Chew Daily reported that a Malaysian model became a trending topic on social media after she was filmed being kissed by veteran Hong Kong comic and TVB general manager Eric Tsang.

Video of the incident, which was posted on Instagram by the model known by her popular moniker Lebara, showed Tsang planting a kiss on her lips as other partygoers cheered on.

“I got to celebrate my birthday and blow out my candles with the Prize Master,” she wrote, referring to Tsang’s long-running role hosting the Super Trio variety show on Hong Kong television.

Netizens noted how affectionate Tsang – a well-known actor, director and producer – was with Lebara, who according to sources, is the god-daughter of Hong Kong businessman Lawrence Yu and a frequent face at parties.

> China Press reported that in just over a year of joining the entertainment industry, Hong Kong actress Sit Yeng Yi has managed to earn enough to buy her first apartment in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Sit’s friend, Malaysian film director Ryon Lee, revealed to the daily that the income of the actress, popularly known as Ah Yi, had skyrocketed since signing with Asia TV.

“Many people assume that Ah Yi is being taken advantage of by the industry.

“But since becoming an actress, she has managed to buy a house in Hong Kong.

“Her income has also increased and she no longer needs to worry about living month to month. Her story really is an inspiration,” said the Penang-born Lee.

Sit and Lee became friends when they met during her month-long tour in Malaysia earlier this year.
