GE15: Application for election observers opens on Oct 11, says EC


PETALING JAYA: Application for the 15th General Election observers has been opened from Tuesday (Oct 11), says the Election Commission.

The commission secretary Datuk Ikmalrudin Ishak said the application for an observer representing organisations will be subjected to the regulations set.

“Observers will be allowed to conduct observations of the polls processes such as the nomination, campaigns, early voting, the voting process, and the counting of votes and tallying until the official announcement of the election results,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (Oct 11).

He added that the application closes on Oct 21 and the form can be downloaded from https://www.spr.gov.my/.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on Monday (Oct 10) that the King had given his formal consent to dissolve Parliament, paving the way for the 15th General Election (GE15) to be held within 60 days.
