SIBU: Political parties from Sabah and Sarawak can be "kingmakers" in the formation of the new government post-GE15, says SUPP.
"Nobody will be able to form a new government as the situation looks very chaotic. We (Sarawak) have 31 parliamentary constituencies so anybody who wants to form the government needs to turn to Sarawak and Sabah," said Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian after officiating University of Technology Sarawak Smart Home on Wednesday (Oct 12).
Dr Sim, who is also the Deputy Sarawak Premier, said he opined that no single party would be able to win comfortably and form the new government.
He said Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) headed by Tan Seri Abang Johari Openg would need to win all 31 seats in the state to have a stronger voice to fight for one-third representation in Parliament in accordance with MA63.
He also said SUPP would be fielding six new faces besides defending the other seven seats it won in the last election.
"We lost in six seats during the last election so obviously the candidates need to be new faces," he said.
