Ipoh cops investigating accident find decomposed body near location


IPOH: Policemen investigating an accident near the Jalan Tambun-Jalan Ampang traffic junction here made a gruesome find of a decomposed body nearby.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the body of a female victim was found by policemen investigating a car crash there at 5.25am on Wednesday (Oct 12).

"We were responding to a report about a car crash," he said, adding that the body was found about two metres away from the car.

As of now, the discovery of the body and the car crash has not been linked.

"The body of the deceased was fully clothed. Initial investigations also did not reveal any significant injuries on the body," he said.

Comm Mohd Yusri said the body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital unit for a post-mortem.

"The case has been classified as sudden death pending the post-mortem report.

"Those with information on the matter can contact investigating officer Insp Josin Amatin, the Tambun police station chief at 016-222 2491 to facilitate investigations," he added.
