Murder of woman whose body was found by roadside solved, say Ipoh cops


IPOH: The police believe that they have solved the murder case of a woman whose decomposed body was found near the Jalan Tambun-Jalan Ampang traffic junction here with the arrest of a male suspect.

Perak police chief Comm Datuk Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the 24-year-old man was arrested at a house in Taman Bersatu, Simpang Pulai on Oct 13.

"We also seized several items, believed to be related to the incident," he said in a statement on Sunday (Oct 16).

On Wednesday (Oct 12), the police found the decomposed body of the woman by the side of the road while investigating an unrelated car accident.

The post-mortem report found that the victim had died from strangulation.

Comm Mohd Yusri said the police would try to complete the investigation papers in the shortest time possible.

"We will then refer the investigation papers to the state deputy public prosecutor's office for the suspect to be charged," he said.
