Kuantan court charges policeman with corruption


KUANTAN: A police sergeant major pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on Thursday (Oct 20) to 24 counts of bribery, involving RM4,800, in monthly deposits into his bank account.

Rasip Majid, 53, who was with the Merlimau police station in Melaka, was alleged to have received the bribe, which was deposited into his bank account by an individual, in 24 transactions of RM200 per month between 2016 and 2019.
