KANGAR: Barisan Nasional will contest in all parliament and state seats in Perlis in the 15th General Election (GE15), says its state chairman Datuk Seri Azlan Man.

The Perlis Mentri Besar said there would also be new faces, but declined to reveal upcoming strategies and groundwork in progress.

"InsyaAllah, there will be new faces.

"The present government has proven to the people and will continue to strive for development.

"The people in Perlis want political stability and prosperity through continuous development.

"The government has done it and the proof can be seen, and such development agendas will continue," said Azlan, who is also Bintong assemblyman, on Friday (Oct 21).

On Oct 14, Perlis dissolved its state assembly to allow state elections to be held simultaneously with parliamentary elections in GE15.

There are three parliamentary seats and 15 state seats in Perlis.

Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim, who had won the past four general elections in 1984, 1990, 2013 and 2018, is expected to defend his seat.

MCA is fielding its state chairman Teh Chai Ann and Chuah Tian Hee for the Titi Tinggi and Indera Kayangan state seats, respectively.

During the last general election in 2018, Barisan in Perlis won 10 out of the 15 state seats while PKR won three and PAS won two.

For Parliament seats, Barisan won two out of three in Arau and Padang Besar while PKR took over the Kangar seat previously dominated by Barisan.
