Nine-year-old girl killed, two seriously hurt in Gelang Patah accident


ISKANDAR PUTERI: A nine-year-old girl was killed and four other people injured, two of them seriously, in a two-car accident in East Ledang, Gelang Patah here on Tuesday (Oct 25) night.

Iskandar Puteri Fire and Rescue Station operations commander Ahmad Nazran Omar said the girl, identified as SK Chiara Dakhshakanya David, who was found pinned in the back seat of one car, died at the scene.

The girl was travelling with three others in the car, identified as N Rajendran, 45, B Patricia Puvaneswary, 45, and SK Clarissa Mathumitha David, four.

Rajendran was seriously hurt while the other two sustained minor injuries, Ahmad Nazran said in a statement on Wednesday (Oct 26).

He said the driver of the other car, Goh Rong Hao, 22, was also seriously injured.

The victims were sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for treatment.

Ahmad Nazran said the station received a distress call at 8.44pm.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP Rahmat Ariffin confirmed the accident when contacted. – Bernama
