Stability in Johor will further boost investments, says Dr Wee

PETALING JAYA: The stability in Johor will encourage domestic and foreign investors to invest in the “blessed” state, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The Transport Minister said economic growth in Johor had become more robust after Barisan Nasional’s big win during the Johor state polls in March.

Dr Wee saod this in a Facebook post after a meet-and-greet with the Chinese community in the Ayer Hitam parliamentary constituency on Saturday (Oct 29).

“The stability in Johor has encouraged the entry of investors from inside and outside of the country to invest in this blessed state,” said the MCA chairman who is also incumbent Ayer Hitam MP.

“Of course, Johor will be more developed if we have a stable federal government that is pragmatic in executing policies that benefit the people as a whole,” he said.

Dr Wee added that Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz, who was at the event, had also delivered some good news to local residents by informing them of infrastructure upgrades.

This included the installation of CCTV, upgrading the road from Yong Peng to Johor Baru as well as a major road from Kangkar Baru and the free parking amenities in Yong Peng.

Also present were Yong Peng assemblyman Ling Tian Soon, Johor exco member and Paloh assemblyman Lee Ting Han, Semarang assemblyman Datuk Samsolbari Jamali, Batu Pahat district officer Nasri Md Ali and Yong Peng council president Nur Faiz Jamil.
