Covid-19: Pakatan's Gopeng candidate tests positive, now in self-quarantine

IPOH: Pakatan Harapan's Gopeng candidate Tan Kar Hing has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a video posted on Facebook on Monday (Nov 7), Tan said he started feeling unwell at about noon.

"I have a sore throat, fever and cough but the symptoms are not serious.

"I self-tested twice and the results came back positive," he said.

"I will now start my self-quarantine for five days, which ends on Nov 11.

"I apologise for this and those whom I have met in the last two days should also do self-testing too," he added.

Tan will face Barisan Nasional's Cally Ting Zhao Song, Perikatan Nasional's Muhammad Farhan Abdul Rahim and Parti Warisan's Dr Balachandran Gopal for the parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election.

Tan said his campaign would continue with the help of former Gopeng MP Dr Lee Boon Chye and volunteers.

"They will carry on with the programmes that we planned, including talks, high-tea sessions and walkabouts.

"I will also continue my campaign online, with videos, so I can interact with my constituents," he added.
