BENTONG: The people can decide if they want a dynamic Barisan Nasional to form the next government in the 15th General Election (GE15) or otherwise, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
"Let the people and Chinese community vote. Barisan Nasional is for diversity and multiculturalism. Barisan is a dynamic party," said the MCA president.
He said this in response to Perikatan Nasional's announcement that a leader from PAS would be Pahang mentri besar if the coalition wins the state polls being held concurrently with GE15.
Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail from Barisan Nasional is the caretaker Pahang Mentri Besar.
Dr Wee said Barisan appreciates unity and diversity and would always do its best for the constituency.
He said this at a dialogue session with the Chinese community here on Tuesday (Nov 9).
Perikatan chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had hinted that a leader from PAS would be the mentri besar in Perlis and Pahang should the coalition capture both states.
Former MCA president Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai said the people should focus on who they vote for in their respective constituencies in GE15 "rather than start debating who the mentri besar of Pahang will be."
"They (Perikatan) are using all kinds of tricks to fish for votes, so the people would discuss it and forget the main issue, which is the general election," he said.
