Live births in Malaysia drop 3% in third quarter of 2022


KUALA LUMPUR: The number of live births in Malaysia for the third quarter of 2022 decreased by 3.0 per cent to 109,397 from 112,776 births recorded in the third quarter of 2021, according to the latest demographic statistics released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

In a statement on Tuesday (Nov 8), DOSM said male babies outnumbered female babies with 56,572 births as compared to female babies (52,825 births).
