GE15: GTA has its strategy, aims for the jugular, says Tambun candidate

IPOH: While other parties have been busy with their campaigns during the first week, Gerakan Tanah Air's candidate for the Tambun parliamentary seat Abdul Rahim Tahir and his team have been quietly making their moves.

"It's all part of the strategy.

"Throughout the first week, we focused more on introducing ourselves on social media, and only went down to the ground to create content," said Abdul Rahim when met during his walkabout in Chemor on Saturday (Nov 12).

"The people recognise the party more than me, and through our efforts on social media, they are getting to know me.

"The plan is to build momentum first and to aim for the jugular towards the end," he said, adding that the momentum for the other candidates also seemed to have slowed down.

"As we have now laid the foundation, we will start hitting the ground more now," he added.

Abdul Rahim will face incumbent MP Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu of Perikatan Nasional, Pakatan Harapan's Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Barisan Nasional's Datuk Aminudin Md Hanafiah for the federal seat during the 15th General Election (GE15).

Abdul Rahim said his primary plan for Tambun was to improve the socio-economy there.

"Our agenda is driven to help the locals.

"We will support the local businesses and youth and to increase traffic into the constituency," he said.

"With more crowds, there will be more job opportunities.

"Tambun is located near the North-South Expressway, so we will promote it more to get tourists to stop by here and hopefully stay a few days," he added.
