GEORGE TOWN: First-time voter Ravenah Lim, 21, is excited to cast her vote in GE15 and has been bingeing on political videos to get an informed opinion on candidates.
“I have not made up my mind yet on who to vote for, but I have been watching videos to see what each party and its candidates have been doing.
“There is plenty of political content nowadays and I get most of my political information from these videos,” she added.
Lim, who is an Educational Studies undergraduate, said she would be heading home to Taiping, Perak, to vote.
“I hope that the leaders I vote for can fight for equality and focus on the people. As a university student, I also hope that our fees can be further reduced as times are bad,” she added.
Humanities undergraduate Thusyika Kaliappan, 20, said she was happy to finally get to vote.
“Besides learning from my parents, I read the newspaper and watch videos online to get to know more about the country’s politics,” she said.
Thusyika, who is voting in the Bagan constituency, added that she was excited about the four-cornered fight there.
“Since I don’t have time to go to ceramah, I usually get to know about politicians and their parties through their social media platforms,” she said.
