GE15: Dr Wan Azizah urges voters to come out and vote

TANJUNG MALIM: In the absence of a convoy of vehicles and fanfare, Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail arrived at Felda Trolak Selatan, about 35km from here, to campaign for the 15th General Election (GE15).

It was her first visit to Perak this general election.

Not affected by the small crowd of less than 100 people, the PKR adviser said Pakatan Harapan was here to rectify the problems faced by the people.

"The pact holds on to its promises with integrity and dignity. It had proven its worth," she added.

Dr Wan Azizah, who was contesting the Bandar Tun Razak seat herself, had urged the people to come out and vote for the future of the country.

"Go to vote early, in case the weather turns bad later the day," she said on Tuesday (Nov 15).

It had been raining in Tanjung Malim everyday recently.

She spoke for about 10 minutes before joining the residents for lunch.

Also present were incumbent Tanjung Malim MP Chang Lih Kang and the party's candidate for the Slim state seat Mohd Syahid Mohd Zaini.

Later on Tuesday, Dr Wan Azizah will attend an event in Tambun, where her husband Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, is campaigning to win the parliamentary seat.

Meanwhile, a large billboard depicting Chang has been splashed with red paint.

The billboard is located at the junction to Kampung Manggis along the main road of Slim River, about 25km from here.

Chang said a police report has been lodged over the incident.

“Dirty tactics like this have never happened in this constituency.

“I hope the police will investigate and bring the culprit to book,” added the Pakatan candidate.
