PETALING JAYA: A total of 253 police reports have been lodged in Selangor since Nomination Day for the 15th General Election (GE15), says Comm Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed.

The Selangor police chief said 19 investigation papers (IPs) have been opened and seven individuals have been arrested in the state between Nov 5 and Nov 15.

"We also recorded 2,931 "ceramah" (political talks) with permits since Nov 5.

"We urge all candidates as well as the public to respect and adhere to the law during G15," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 16).

Comm Arjunaidi also advised all parties to refrain from committing any provocation or causing untoward incidents that could disrupt safety and public order.

On early voting, a total of 16,799 police personnel members in Selangor have fulfilled their responsibility in casting their votes on Tuesday (Nov 5), Comm Arjunaidi said.

"It involved 51 early voting centres and 93 voting streams," he said.
