KOTA KINABALU: In the last general election, farmer Kuyu Linau had used some of his hard-earned money to help fund the expenses of Parti Warisan.
He had donated RM300, and till today, he is still a strong supporter of the party.
“I gave the money previously because I wanted to help them (Warisan). I believed in the cause they were fighting for and still do,” the 65-year-old said.
Kuyu, a Murut Tagol native of Tenom, took the chance to go for a campaign talk organised by the Tenom Warisan candidate, Ukim Buandi, with party president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal also present.
In his speech, Shafie mentioned Kuyu, and thanked the latter and his family for their support.
He recalled how after Kuyu insisted on giving the money, he (Shafie) framed the money and a letter attached, which among others had words of motivation for the party to move forward.
Shafie said it was support like this that made Warisan stronger and continue to push through despite the odds.
He is in Tenom to give support to Ukim, who is facing a five-cornered fight against Pakatan Harapan’s Noorita Sual, Barisan Nasional’s Jamawi Jaafar, and independents Riduan Rubin and Peggy Chaw Zhi Ting.
