Mukhriz hits out at Sanusi for personal attack on rival

ALOR SETAR: Datuk Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor is trying to cover up his weaknesses by launching personal attacks against his opponents, says Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir.

The Pejuang president claimed the Kedah Mentri Besar's style of politics was "old-school" and "very personal", adding he had "done nothing to develop the state,"

Mukhriz, when met at a morning market at Jalan Sanglang here on Wednesday (Nov 16), was commenting on Muhammad Sanusi's speech during a ceramah at Kampung Ganding on Saturday (Nov 13) where he claimed that Tan Chee Hiong (Barisan Nasional-MCA) caused his father's hardware business in Kampung Begia, Jeniang to go bankrupt.

In a press conference on Tuesday (Nov 15), Tan said he would be filing a defamation suit against him after GE15.

Mukhriz said Muhammad Sanusi, who is Kedah Perikatan Nasional chairman, had a tendency to issue statements without thinking of the consequences.

"He is now known as 'MB ketum'. He had said that anyone who plants ketum can become millionaires," he said.

Mukhriz said voters needed to choose wisely on Saturday and pick leaders with substance and good policies.

"We know what we are talking about and we understand the issues and we know how to solve it," he said.

On his campaign trail so far, Mukhriz, who is three-term in Jerlun MP, said response had been good.

"I'm focusing on house-to-house campaigning rather than big gatherings.

"I have to explain our party policies and my track record over the past three terms.

"I also have to explain our new logo our candidates are contesting under, so that they won't be confused," he said.
