Sarawak Premier approves four projects in Lanang constituency

SIBU: Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has approved four projects for the Lanang constituency.

"There were no conditions set when he (the Premier) approved these projects," said Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) candidate for the seat, Wong Ching Yong at a press conference on Wednesday (Nov 1).

Wong however believed that if he won in the election, these projects could be implemented faster.

"If I win, they might be implemented faster. If I lose, the projects would still be implemented. However I cannot guarantee whether funds for the projects would not be transferred to other people," he added.

These projects included an aquatic centre in Sibujaya (RM50mil), upgrading of Jalan Pulau Dudong (RM2mil), upgrading of 15 national primary schools (total RM15mil) and construction of Bukit Tunggal transit station (RM15.6mil).

Wong is in a four-cornered fight for the seat with incumbent Alice Lau (DAP), Priscilla Lau (Parti Bumi Kenyalang) and an independent Datuk Wong Tiing Kiong.
