Liow: Malaysia will continue to seek justice for MH17 victims

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia will not stop seeking justice for the victims of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, says Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai.

The former transport minister said he noted three individuals had been sentenced to life in prison by a Dutch court for downing the aircraft.

"My thoughts and prayers are always with the victims' families.

"The pain of losing our loved ones will never go away," he said in a Facebook post Friday (Nov 18).

On Friday, Dutch judges convicted three accused – Igor Girkin, Sergey Dubinsky and Leonid Kharchenko – of murder in absentia for their role in the shooting down of MH17.

It handed them life sentences and acquitted one other, Oleg Pulatov, as there was no substantial evidence to convict him.

On July 17, 2014, MH17 was shot down and crashed in eastern Ukraine, killing all 298 people on board.
